Pruning Workshop - Fruit Bushes

Learn the why, when and how of pruning and caring for 10+ different fruit bushes, in this hands on pruning workshop.

This workshop will be packed with practical tips for how to care for and prune your fruit bushes to maximize their yield and health. You will learn, how, why, and when to make your cuts and what tools to use.

On our beautiful community site at Forest Farm Peace Garden we grow 10+ different varieties of fruit bushes including Currants, Raspberries, Gooseberries, Elderberries, hybrid berries, Blueberries, and some more unusual varieties such as Sea buckthorn, Aronia and Japanese Wineberry.

The workshop includes a tour of our fruit collection and a chance to get some practice in, pruning and looking after a selection of fruit based on your interest, with guidance from our experienced fruit growers. There will be plenty of time for questions. You will also have the opportunity to learn to plant up your own cuttings to take home and grow your own fruit bush.

As well as the chance to go home with your own new plant you will also get a 4-page handout with a summary of all the basic pruning information and most likely leave with a lifted mood after a morning of fun in nature with other people.

For those who want, you may bring a packed lunch to eat together afterwards and continue getting to know each other. Hot drinks and biscuits provided.
